Mino Mikana: A Good Path

Called “compelling,” “a beautiful experience,” and offering “straight talk without scare tactics,” Mino Mikana explores the problems underlying underage drinking, with a special focus on the White Earth reservation in northern Minnesota. Given screenings across the country, this documentary has quickly become an important tool for fostering Wellbriety and beginning discussions about social change. TRIEELFOWLON FINALISTS

In Winter of 2008, Bemidji hosted the first-ever Trieelfowlon semi-Olympic events, with heated competitions ranging from "minnow-holding" to "deep snow egg hunts." Afgter the final event the score was locked in a three way tie. Here is the tie-breaker, and the last ten minutes of the movie.

NORTHERN LIGHTS COMMERCIAL

The Northern Lights Film Festival asked us to put together a television ad which ran across northern Minnesota. There was no available video footage from the previous year, so the commercial was entirely animated. Novamation Studios is a staunch supporter of independent film – ask us what we can do for you!

SCRENOCK WEDDING

We can take your wedding footage, no matter the original quality, and polish it into something you can cherish and share for a lifetime. This beautiful ceremony was filmed by a relative with a consumer-level camcorder. We were asked to eliminate "dead space," color-correct, remove the camera hum, and help dress it up in a few places. This is the first five minutes of the wedding; the next hour continues with the similar types of fades, music continuity and added visual variety.

ISLAND

A very short piece commissioned by a talented young poet, "Island" sets a piece of his work to moody photographs and in-house music. It is expected to be a part of an exhibit of his work sometime in the near future; we hope to work with him again at some point.

BRULE RIVER - FISHING GIFT

"Steve" was invited by some friends to spend a weekend fishing steelhead on the Brule River. He tucked a handheld camcorder into his fishing creel, and took a few shots of his guides and of the surrounding nature. Once he returned, he asked us to help him put together a short DVD gift to thank his friends for their hospitality.
